   London, appoints new Executive Director. Moira Sinclair has been appointed the Executive Director of Arts Council England, London. Moira was previously Director of Development at the Arts Council’s London office and has been Interim Executive Director since December 2007.

Before joining the Arts Council in 2005 Moira was Director of Vital Arts, an award winning arts and health organisation. She has also worked in local government, and in theatre and production management, with roles at Greencandle Dance Company, Tricycle Theatre and at the Hexagon in Reading among others.

Alan Davey, Chief Executive, Arts Council England, said: “This is fantastic news for the Arts Council, the arts in London, and beyond. Moira’s expertise and her standing in the Arts Council and the wider arts community make her absolutely the right person for this vital role, leading our work in London in the exciting and challenging times ahead.”

Moira Sinclair said: “London is an extraordinary city and I feel privileged to be taking on this role. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with the artists and arts organisations that make the arts in London a national and international success story. I also look forward to continuing to work with our partners to ensure that the arts are a key feature in the city's day to day life, and to improving the opportunities for people across the capital to take part in the broad range of activities we support."

Moira, who studied Drama at Manchester University, is also a Clore Fellow having completed the Clore Leadership Programme in 2004/05.
