Public Day at the Musikmesse
Published: Mar 16, 2007 - 09:30 AM
The Public Day, when anyone with an interest in music can attend, has been an established feature of the Musikmesse for many years. A multidarious complementary programme makes the Public Day even more attractive.
At the same time, many exhibitors hold extra events, such as autograph sessions or product presentations, on their exhibition stands. Successful international musicians can be seen and heard in an intimate setting. The result is an atmosphere unparalleled anywhere else.
The ‘Agora Stage’ marquee presents the ‘Rock of the Finest’ on 3 stages. The motto of ‘MusicBiz Stage’ in Hall 4.2, Stand E74, is ‘No games – just punk'n'rock!’. At the Acoustic Stage in Hall 3.Via, visitors can hear instrumental music ‘unplugged’ while, at the Musikmesse Forum in the same hall, they can listen to interesting lectures and discussions.
The finale of SchoolJam, Germany's biggest pupil-band competition, begins at 4.30 p.m. in ‘Saal Harmonie’ of Congress Centre Messe Frankfurt (admission begins at 3.30 p.m.). Eight bands have made it this far and now have the chance to play their songs to a jury of experts. In the grand finale of the competition, the winning band will appear on the Musikmesse Stage together with three top acts – ‘Revolverheld’, ‘Die Killerpilze’ and ‘Nevio’– and play to a big audience. Additionally, as a special highlight, the VIVA music channel will broadcast the concert live in a 90-minute programme with lots of reports about the bands, the live transmission of the finale and information about the SchoolJam initiative.
Following the SchoolJam finale, hr3@night-Party, the region's biggest radio party, begins at 9.30 p.m. The hr3 radio station has drawn up a full programme: the 20 best locations open their doors this evening, 50 live acts, including DJs, bands, variety and comedy, are on the programme while numerous hr3 presenters want nothing more than to turn night into day. Appearing at the Congress Centre will be, for example, the Wise Guys with top a-cappella singing. Elsewhere, hr3-discovery Annett Louisan will play with the hr-Bigband at the ‘Palais im Zoo’ while Stoppok will make hand-made music at hr Broadcasting House, rock'n'roll band Boppin'B will let the good times roll in the Trianon building; hard-rock band Schaffrath will make things go with a bang at the ‘Sinkkasten’ and the hr3-disco party, also at Trianon, will set the earth quaking. Anyone with star qualities can sing with Karaoke at the Schirn Café and, and, and ...
hr3@night takes place in Frankfurt from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m. on Saturday, 31 March 2007. The various locations involved can be reached via shuttle buses. hr3@night admission tickets give holders free entry to all locations and clubs taking part. On entering the first location, visitors will be given a ticket, i.e., the ticket will be exchanged for another ticket, giving access to all other locations and shuttle buses.
The hr3@night ticket also entitles holders to visit the Musikmesse for the special price of € 14 (instead of € 26) per person. Simply show your hr3@night ticket at the Musikmesse box office. hr3@night tickets can also be purchased in advance at the Exhibition Centre (Congress Centre entrance).
