   EMO’s main policy consists in setting up a specific EU Programme for music. As coordinator of the European Music Platform, EMO develops music cooperation projects responding to the EU calls for proposals. The EMO is an international non-profit association promoting musical diversity and representing the interests of European music professionals at a European and worldwide level.

The European Music Platform was created in 2004, in order to run the first ever implemented pilot projects co-financed by the European Union in the field of music. Most members of the Platform are national music export organisations and national music information centres.

 

During 2005 – 2006 these Pilot Projects were supported by the European Commission as experimental actions in the following fields:

 

Support to live music

- European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP).

- European Tour Support (ETS).

 

International promotion

- Pre-development of a US Office in New York.

- Feasibility study for an office in China.

 

Exchange of information

- EMO Export Handbooks



Who can apply for membership



The following non-profit legal persons can apply for membership:



    * legal persons that represent authors and/or composers and/or publishers;

    * legal persons that represent performing artists;

    * legal persons that represent record and/or video producers;

    * legal persons whose object is to represent, defend and promote the interests of creative and cultural industries in the music sector.
