AMAZIA will take place in the Hong Kong Convention Centre, from 17-20 November, 2008. AMAZIA is organised by the Paris-based Reed MIDEM.

"The reaction to AMAZIA has been excellent and confirms that there is a real interest in the remarkable Asian television, music and gaming sectors, and in the idea of bringing together these different entertainment strands with the multitude of content distribution platforms at a single, international event," says Franz Caduc, Director of AMAZIA.

On October 8, China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and the Shanghai Media Group (SMG), expressed their support for AMAZIA. Meanwhile, MIPCOM attendees have also voiced their enthusiasm for the new event by confirming their intention to attend AMAZIA.

Among over 20 Chinese companies to express interest in AMAZIA 2008 are CCTV, Beijing TV, Greater China Media and Entertainment, Guangzhou Beauty Culture, Star-DTV and Films and China Movie Channel.

Other Asian companies set to attend AMAZIA include KBI, SBS Productions and MBC (Korea); Zee Network, Shemaroo Entertainment, Eros Entertainment and Air Media (India); Typhoon Distribution and Agogo Entertainment (Hong Kong); MSC (Malaysia); and Taipei Hsien Computer Association (Taiwan).

From the rest of the world, All3Media, Channel 4, Cosgrove Hall Films and Indigo Films (UK); Horizon Québec (Canada); Rive Gauche, Televisa, TV Azteca and Powersport (USA); Caracol (Colombia); RTVE, ICEX (Spain); Danish Broadcasting Corporation (Denmark); Mondo TV (Italy); City Art and K&P Television (Dubai); Two Ways Traffic (Netherlands) and Dori Media, Baby First TV (Israel) have all confirmed their presence.

Music companies and organisations have also signed up for AMAZIA including WIN (World Independent Network), Edel, Prime Disc International and the French Music Export Bureau.

Over 30 International Buyers also showed their interest in AMAZIA representing companies like Star Entertainment Private Ltd (India), Mediacorp TV Singapore (Singapore), Promo Group TV Ltd (Hong Kong).

Launched in co-production with MIPCOM, MIPTV and MIDEM, AMAZIA will be the only multi-platform, content-driven market in Asia. In addition to exhibition & conferences, AMAZIA will offer 4 days of innovative content and platform showcases, numerous special events and networking services. From 17-18 November, AMAZIA will also host the Entertainment Leadership Summit, a strategic two-day think-tank bringing together visionary speakers from across the Asian and international entertainment industries.
