[3] The Foreign Reporting course (5th January –30th March 2009) is a
theoretical and practical course aimed at providing students with the conceptual framework and the practical skills needed to work as a foreign reporter on assignment. The course puts
emphasis on multiculturality, ethnicity, cultural minorities and international journalism.
The Foreign Reporting Course consists of:
- Foreign Correspondence in Practice (5 ECTS credits)
- International Journalism (5 ECTS credits)
- Ethnicity, Representation and the Media (5 ECTS credits)
- Journalism for Cultural Minorities (5 ECTS credits)
At the end of the course, the students are sent to Estonia on a working assignment which will result in a report for newspaper, radio or television. Thus, the participants are expected to have good English skills and some experience of practical journalism.
The course is full-time and the participants should, due to the intensive programme, not take part in other day-time courses from January to March 2009.
