[3]   The Lab is open to performers from different countries and backgrounds inspired by Physical Theatre as a bold, vibrant and multidimensional approach to contemporary theater performance.The Lab programme includes intensive practical training, lectures and discussion club.



The Lab is putting particular emphasis on practical exploration of methods and techniques of group theatre training as the foundation for coherent rehearsal process, open creative atmosphere and efficient performance making.



 Practical sessions develop in the form of various exercises and progress from simple to complicated. Gradually the group is proceeding to group improvisations and structures. Every day is setting advanced creative tasks, developing the preceding steps and deepening into the detailed consecutive process.



The Lab is an opportunity to discover new ideas and impulses for future creative work, to make new contacts with colleagues from different parts of the world and the variety of Physical Theatre.



PARTICIPANTS



Actors of physical, dramatic, musical and dance theatres, dancers, choreographers, directors, stage designers, playwrights, script writers.



SERGEI OSTRENKO



Sergei Ostrenko is a Russian director and teacher working in professional theatre over twenty-eight years. His creative way has passed through the Cold War of the 1980s, collapse of the USSR in the 1990s, creative ordeals in the period of the interethnic tension in the Baltic and joining the New Europe. His creative work is the synthesis of the Russian Theatre School and the newest experiments in various performing arts.



Ostrenko has dedicated many years to exploration of world theatre traditions working with multicultural groups of performing artists. His approach is known internationally as the effective method of growing cohesion and creation of live performances within limited time. Theatre workers from Russia, Europe, America, Asia and Australia who trained with Ostrenko have been using his method in their own creative practice.   



REGISTRATION

      detailed CV/résumé with dates

Places are limited, the registration will be closed once the group is full.



Participation fee:



The fee with accommodation in shared twin room:

850 EUR if payment is made before September 20th

950 EUR if payment is made before September 27th.



The fee covers attendance of the programme, eight nights of hotel accommodation in shared twin room (two persons share one room), two meals per day (breakfast and lunch), tea/coffee breaks and farewell buffet.



The fee with accommodation in single room:

910 EUR if payment is made before September 20th

1010 EUR if payment is made before Sept. 27th.



The fee covers attendance of the programme, eight nights of hotel accommodation in single room (one person in the room), two meals per day (breakfast and lunch), tea/coffee breaks and farewell buffet.



For IUGTE Members - 20% discount.



Some places with reduced participation fee are left (for students up to 50%). Applications are being considered on a competitive basis.
