Theatre [2]
[3]   Writing for the Theatre, at City University (Islington, London) The course explores the skills, knowledge and techniques required to write scripts and plays. Elements of playwriting (structure, dialogue, plot, characters, themes) will be analysed and applied and students will be invited to write a piece of original work (min. length 10 minutes, but longer works and full-length plays are strongly encouraged).

These works, or as many or much of them as time allows, will be read in class and will receive constructive feedback.

The course is designed for all those who are interested in writing dialogue and want to explore their writing potential for the theatre.  It may be useful also for actors, directors, producers, editors, journalists, etc., who want to gain an insight into writing for the theatre

Course starts on Thursday 9th October 2008 and classes (10 classes), will be held weekly on Thursdays, from 6.30-8.30pm.  Participants, if they think it useful, are free to re-enroll after each term.
